In the latest episode of our short film series, we’ll show you what it’s like to glide above the treetops in Pilis. Discover the Visegrád Canopy!
The first canopy course was actually a zip-line course set up by researchers in Costa Rica. Experts studying the rainforest used this method to travel above the canopy, enabling them to study the world that opened up and became visible beneath them from a perfect vantage point. However, alongside the research, they particularly enjoyed the little bit of fun inherent in the work itself – namely, the act of travelling along the ropes. This is where the idea came from that similar canopy walks could perhaps be built elsewhere, in more easily accessible areas. In Hungary, the one in Visegrád was the first.
You can set off in groups of 4–10 people; this truly unique tour lasts no less than 1 hour. And it’s an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime. Canopy is the sort of activity that you’ll definitely want to experience again and again once you’ve tried it just once. And there’s nothing stopping you, as it’s just a 40-minute drive from Budapest.
These days, the experience has been enhanced by a brilliant little adventure park, which is perfectly safe for children, so what was essentially an ideal outing for groups of friends or corporate team-building events has grown into a genuine family adventure.
