On the right bank of the Danube, in the Danube Bend area, there are many opportunities for bathing, both on natural waterfront beaches and in the built pool environment, from Esztergom to Leányfalu...
Visegrad
Bathing
In Visegrad, the Thermal Hotel Visegrad offers bathing facilities not only for hotel guests, but access is subject to occupancy. It is worth calling them or otherwise contacting them to inquire about the current possibilities.
Bathing is forbidden along the Danube in Visegrád, which is why we recommend the above-mentioned hotels.
However, in the Danube bays of the Visegrád coastline, it is possible to take to the water by SUP, kayak or canoe from the landing stage at the Sportcentrum. You can also rent equipment there.
Kisoroszi island peak
The Kisoroszi Island Peak is now a legend. Szentendre Island cuts the Danube in two, from here we can see the widening curves and mountain ranges of the Danube bend, and from here we can see the Visegrád Citadel. You can swim as well as go wild camping. There is also a buffet, toilet, shower and water tap.
You can reach it by car by crossing the bridge in Tahitótfalju and driving towards Kisoroszi. By boat it's easy, from Visegrád it's a few kilometres along the Danube and you're there.
In Nagymaros you can swim in the Danube, and it is very easy to get across with the Visegrád-Nagymaros ferry.
Dunabogdány
A sandy beach on the Danube, ideal for swimming, next to a bicycle path, a cafeteria and a bakery.
Girls' village
In the thermal baths of Leányfalu you will find an adventure pool, a spa pool and a swimming pool.
The medicinal waters of Leányfalu, rising from a depth of 1000 metres, are a blessed remedy for many ailments, but in the summer heat, of course, there is no reason not to enjoy the cooler pools.
Between 31 May and 31 August, the pool of Danu Camping in Dömös is open not only to camping guests but to all visitors. One of its real special features, apart from its modesty, is that it probably boasts one of the most magnificent panoramas in the world for those who look out over the St. Michael's Hill on the other side of the Danube or the Pilis in the other direction.
In Esztergom, at 5 Táncsics Mihály Street, on the bank opposite the Kis-Duna promenade, you will find the city's adventure baths, which have both outdoor and indoor pools, but as a wellness centre, it also offers a number of other facilities for those who want to recharge their batteries, including a special Turkish bath, which was opened in May this year.
Crossing the Mária Valéria bridge from Esztergom to the other side of the Danube, you will also find a great bathing place in Párkány.
VADAS Thermal Resort is a hotel and wellness centre in one. Adventure pools, salt cabin, sound and light therapy showers and special Jacuzzis await visitors to our neighbourhood.
