If you’re spending some time in Visegrád and you’re a film lover, you don’t have to miss out on the latest releases, as the Duna Mozi in Visegrád reopened its doors a few years ago and welcomes cinema-goers with a truly unique atmosphere.

On weekdays, the focus is occasionally on arthouse or more serious, dramatic, thematic films, whilst on Fridays and at weekends, family films and the latest cinema releases are shown.

The building occasionally serves as a venue for matinee screenings and musical performances for children. The institution organises special performances, and the screening room is also suitable for staging theatrical performances.

SACRÉ COEUR – THE WONDERFUL POWER OF THE SACRED HEART

Dubbed French documentary, 95 minutes, 2026 (Not recommended for children under 12!) Directed by: Sabrina Gunnell, Steven Gunnell Starring: Abbé Louis Bardon, Caroline Beghain, Lucas Bourgery This extraordinary documentary explores God’s boundless love and the devotion to the Sacred Heart. Titled *Sacré Coeur*, the film was released in France last autumn, where it enjoyed unexpected success and sparked a wave of conversions: within a few months, half a million people had seen it in cinemas, and the film also deeply moved young people. SPIDER-MAN: A BRAND-NEW DAY

Dubbed American fantasy adventure film, 145 minutes, 2026 (Not recommended for children under 12!) Director: Destin Cretton Starring: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Jacob Batalon Four years have passed. At the end of *No Way Home*, Spider-Man chose solitude. Voluntarily, for the sake of the world, he erased himself from people’s memories, thereby giving up his love and his good friend (Jacob Batalon) as well. New York no longer knows his name, but simply enjoys the benefits of his work: after all, he continues to fight crime – and with nothing else to do, he has become a full-time Spider-Man. Yet he is needed more and more often. The pressure weighing upon him triggers strange changes in his body, and eventually escalates to the point where it threatens his very existence. Just as a whole new breed of crime begins to spread through the city, he finds himself facing the greatest challenge of his life. (port.hu)

THE SON OF THE DESERT

Dubbed French family film, 92 minutes, 2026 (Not recommended for children under 6!) Director: Gilles de Maistre Starring: Kev Adams, Moun Ghazali, Adriane Grzadziel, Fourteen-year-old Sun has written a book inspired by one of her grandfather’s stories: The Incredible Story of Hadara. The supposed Hadara was a nomadic child who was lost by his family in a desert sandstorm at the age of two. It was believed that a pair of ostriches had rescued and raised him. When Sun is invited to the Sahara following the publication of his book, he realises that the Hadara story is much more than just a bedtime tale. (port.hu)

MOHÁCS – THE BATTLE OF THE WORLDS

Hungarian documentary, 80 minutes, 2026 (Not recommended for children under 12!) Directors: Levente Mező, Mihály Diósy Starring: László Méhes, József Szarvas, Csilla Fejes, Raul Ionescu Rubicon’s latest historical documentary was produced to mark the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Mohács and, drawing on new research findings and featuring international historians, presents one of the most defining battles in Hungarian history. Through the insights of Hungarian, Turkish and Italian experts, the film explores the events leading up to the battle and its consequences, whilst also presenting interpretations that go beyond the usual narratives. The historical analyses are brought to life through dramatised reconstructions and spectacular battle scenes. (port.hu)

Dubbed American action film, 103 minutes, 2025 (Not recommended for under-18s!) Director: Potsy Ponciroli Starring: Alan Ritchson, Ben Foster, Shailene Woodley 1970, Detroit. John Miller falls in love with the local mafia boss’s girlfriend and runs off with her, but their new life comes to nothing. The gangster turns to a few corrupt cops for help, but they soon catch up with them; the girl is returned to him, whilst John is sent to prison on false charges. Just long enough for him to learn every form of crime. And since his life is already ruined, after his release he is interested in only one thing: taking revenge on the man who took away his love and his future. (port.hu)

Director: Cal Brunker When a magical meteor crashes into Adventure City, it gives the dogs of the Paw Patrol superpowers, turning them into SUPERDOGS! For the team’s youngest member, Skye, her new superpower is a dream come true. But things take a turn for the worse when the dogs’ arch-enemy, Humdinger, escapes from prison and teams up with Victoria Vance, the meteor-obsessed mad scientist, to steal the superpowers and turn themselves into supervillains. The fate of Adventure City hangs in the balance; the Superpups must stop the supervillains before it’s too late, and Skye must learn that sometimes the smallest pup matters the most. (port.hu)

A BITTER CHRISTMAS

Subtitled Spanish film, 111 minutes, 2026 (Not recommended for under-16s!) Director: Pedro Almodóvar Starring: Bárbara Lennie, Aitana Sánchez, Leonardo Sbaraglia Elsa has been directing adverts ever since she felt she had failed in the feature film industry. She works non-stop and doesn’t even realise how close she is to a breakdown. After suffering several severe migraine attacks, she decides to take a break on the island of Lanzarote in the company of her friend Patricia, who is also in desperate need of a way out of her depression. The trip to this unusual volcanic island proves to be a major turning point in Elsa’s life and her relationships. The events surrounding Elsa run parallel to the story of Raúl, a screenwriter and film director, as life and fiction become intertwined. (port.hu)

Director: Ridley Scott Starring: Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney Ridley Scott’s thrilling, epic thriller is set in a world where survival is instinctive, but humanity is a matter of choice. Hig, a young pilot and skilled survivor, has carved out a functional yet isolated home for himself in the ruthless post-apocalyptic world of Bangley. However, a mysterious radio broadcast beckons Hig into the unknown; he still believes there is hope for humanity. (port.hu)
