Our jousting programme is unique in the whole country. We will take you back to the Middle Ages, not so much dark as glitteringly colourful.
Members of the Order of St George will demonstrate, in a spectacular jousting tournament, how warriors fought for the favour of the king and queen in 14th-century Visegrád.
At the start of the programmes, the knights choose a king and a queen from among the audience, who are then dressed in royal robes and crowned.
At the king’s command, the knights enter the arena, demonstrating their marksmanship and jousting skills with their medieval weapons to the royal couple and their invited guests.
The jousts bring to life the courage and daring of medieval knights in a realistic and thrilling way, occasionally with a touch of humour. Our shows are further enhanced by the flight of a royal goshawk.
To round off the programme, our guests will have the chance to try out medieval weapons with the help of the knights.
We offer the opportunity to have a meal at the Reneszánsz Restaurant either before or after the performance.
Visegrád Jousting Tournament and Royal Banquet
Every Saturday, we welcome our guests with Visegrád’s most popular medieval programme: a jousting display at Solomon’s Tower and a princely royal feast at the Renaissance Restaurant.
Detailed programme:
12:00 Historical tour of Solomon’s Tower, followed by a visit to the tower’s roof
12.30 Jousting display with refreshments (white wine, apple juice) at Solomon’s Tower
13:30 A royal feast at the Renaissance Restaurant, featuring the following menu:
Creamy, tarragon deer soup with onion and potato dumplings
Roast turkey leg, honey pork side dish, chicken breast fillet in panko breadcrumbs, fried potato chips, mayonnaise with chives, honey-smoky sauce, apple braised cabbage
Ice-cream sundae
The menu does not include drinks.

The Knights’ Tournament takes place every Saturday at 12 noon.
