The snow cannons were hard at work in the middle of the week, and of course the snow groomer wasn’t resting either, so the shared section of runs 2/A and 1/A is now open, offering a 300-metre run on the freshly snow-covered section.
Low humidity, cold nights and, ideally, cold days all combine to finally create conditions that allow enough time to maintain the snow cover on the slopes. We’ve been really looking forward to this.

Snow-covered Nagyvillám has now become a major tourist attraction; it really is breathtaking, as there’s no snow anywhere else, so the ski slope gives the impression that a piece of another world has been transported here to Visegrád. And in a way, that’s actually true…

It looks as though there will still be a thick layer of snow even in the last week of February, so it’s well worth taking the opportunity to have some ski lessons, as there’s time to prepare, practise and then put what we’ve learnt into practice on the slopes. So both beginners and experienced skiers are welcome to come along.

All the lifts are running; this weekend, the snack bar is serving, amongst other things, excellent goulash cooked over an open fire, and ticket prices remain very reasonable.
