In many respects, we have all had a challenging year, so it is a particular honour and pleasure for us that so many of you have come to visit us here in Visegrád, and that you have chosen us time and time again whenever you’ve wanted to get away from it all for a while.
This is yet another confirmation for us, showing that the Danube Bend remains an oasis of peace for hundreds of thousands of people even today…

The symbolism and legacy of Visegrád also entail a multitude of responsibilities, the weight of which may, from time to time, naturally feel overwhelming to all those who work for Visegrád and in Visegrád. This is precisely why it is such an uplifting feeling to see that our town lives on in the hearts of so many Hungarians, just as it does in ours – one need only think of the resounding success of the Visegrád International Palace Games in 2023. Our biggest event is more than just a traditional festival, more than a family weekend, and more than the annual gathering of an enthusiastic community. This event links Visegrád’s past and present more actively and authentically than anything else. It is a time for remembrance and paying tribute, but also a source of pride and a gateway to a world open to everyone.

However, the success of a single major event cannot, on its own, be taken as an indicator of a city’s success in tourism. To achieve this, it is necessary to maintain interest throughout the year, nurture relationships with repeat visitors, and provide a range of activities for those wishing to visit Visegrád that make it truly worth their while to come here. Visegrád’s accommodation providers (ranging from hotels to the smallest family-run apartments) play a major role in this endeavour, as do all those whose creative ideas and businesses make this range of attractions so unique throughout the Danube Bend.

We are also grateful that, thanks to you, tourism in Visegrád does not come to an end even outside the peak summer season, and that you are keen to visit our town in spring, autumn and winter too.
