Night of the Stars

19 August 2026 · 8.00 pm

Night-time tour with stargazing and fireworks

In August, it has become something of a tradition for us to watch the Visegrád fireworks display from the top of one of the nearby hills every year, before setting off into the woods for a night-time walk.

If possible, this year’s programme will be even more special, as you’ll also have the chance to observe the Perseid meteor shower, which begins in mid-August, with the help of László Dorogi (amateur astronomer and member of the MCSE). You’ll be able to learn about the constellations and planets, and we hope to spot plenty of shooting stars, as well as observe a few other exciting targets in the summer sky through a telescope. 🔭🌠🌟

All this in the heart of nature, close to yet far from the city lights.

Bring a torch (preferably one with a red light) or some other source of light with you on the hike, and mosquito repellent spray is also recommended.

Distance: 6 km, with a 120 m climb.

Difficulty level: ⭐⭐ (5/2: an easy hike, which I’d recommend even for beginners or those getting back into it! An ideal activity for families with children!)
