On the right bank of the Danube, in the Danube Bend area, there are many opportunities for bathing, both on natural waterfront beaches and in the built pool environment, from Esztergom to Leányfalu...
Let’s take a look at the options in the same order, starting from Esztergom and following the course of the Danube.
In Esztergom, at 5 Táncsics Mihály Street, on the bank opposite the Kis-Duna promenade, you will find the city's adventure baths, which have both outdoor and indoor pools, but as a wellness centre, it also offers a number of other facilities for those who want to recharge their batteries, including a special Turkish bath, which was opened in May this year.
Crossing the Mária Valéria Bridge to the other side of the Danube, we’ll find another excellent bathing spot in Párkány.

Between 31 May and 31 August, the pool of Danu Camping in Dömös is open not only to camping guests but to all visitors.One of its real special features, apart from its modesty, is that it probably boasts one of the most magnificent panoramas in the world for those who look out over the St. Michael's Hill on the other side of the Danube or the Pilis in the other direction.

Swimming is prohibited along the entire stretch of the Danube at Visegrád, which is why we recommend the hotels mentioned above if you’re set on staying near Visegrád. On the other hand, swimming is permitted in Nagymaros, and it’s very easy to get across via the Visegrád–Nagymaros ferry.
The public beach at Dunabogdány has become something of a legend in its own right. Right next to the cycle path running alongside this beach – which is popular for good reason – you’ll find not only a lovely little snack bar serving draught beer and other refreshments, but also the Heim Sütöde itself…
At the thermal spa in Leányfalu, you’ll find a leisure pool, a therapeutic pool and a swimming pool; what’s more, you can even take part in morning water aerobics here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 am.
The thermal waters of Leányfalu, which well up from a depth of 1,000 metres, are a blessed remedy for many ailments, but in the intense summer heat, there is of course nothing to stop us from enjoying the cooler pools to our heart’s content.
The Kisoroszi Island Peak is also legendary, and not just within its own category. It is here that the Szentendre Island cuts the Danube in two; from here we can see the widening bends of the Danube Bend and its mountain ranges, from here we see Visegrád Castle from a most unusual angle, and here, after just half an hour of gazing, we are treated to such a dose of nature’s poetry that it is no wonder we end up staying here for days on end.
You can go for a swim here, and wild camping is also possible. There is a snack bar, toilets, showers and a water tap.
Szigetcsúcs is the ultimate in natural beaches in the Danube Bend, even though this ever-changing, constantly shifting, pleasantly shallow and vast stretch of shoreline is not, in fact, developed for that purpose at all.
