This year’s Easter in Visegrád brings with it three eagerly awaited season openings. This means, without a doubt, that the long-awaited spring is well and truly here.
HopON HopOff
On 18 April, Good Friday, the local tourist service – which has been operating with great success for several years now – will kick off the 2025 season. These red double-decker buses now have a real fan base, as Visegrád has never before been so easily and comprehensively accessible by public transport.
On Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (i.e. 18–19–20–21 April), services will also run at the following times from the From the car park at the MAHART ferry terminal:

You can choose from a total of 11 drop-off (and, of course, pick-up) points: Boat Station, Salamon Tower, Nagyvillám Ski Slope, Mogyoró Hill, Bobsleigh Run, Silvanus, Fellegvár, Apátkúti Valley, Boutique Hotel, Nagymaros Ferry, Royal Palace.

Solomon's Tower
The Solomon Tower, which forms part of the King Matthias Museum at the Hungarian National Museum, opens for the season on 18 April.
From 19 to 21 April, the lower castle of King Béla IV’s double castle complex will be open to visitors every day between 09:00 and 17:00, the legendary Solomon’s Tower, whose jousting arena serves as the venue for the Order of St George’s jousting displays from spring to autumn.
This enormous building houses several special archaeological exhibitions, but as a building in its own right, with its incredibly thick walls, internal spiral staircase, reception hall and courtyard, it is an extremely fascinating sight, whether admired from the outside or from within, as this building is nearly 800 years old.

MAHART HOP-ON Pleasure Boat
Tickets for the popular tourist boat service running along the Visegrád–Nagymaros–Zebegény–Dömös–Nagymaros–Visegrád route will go on sale from 17 April, so we’ll have the chance to explore the Danube Bend from a perspective we may never have seen before, even over the Easter holiday weekend. This beautiful region truly reveals its full splendour from the Danube, whether viewed from the river’s left or right bank.
What makes this cruise truly special is that it offers the chance to disembark at each stop for as long as you like – to look around or go for a walk – as you can simply board one of the subsequent cruises to continue your journey.
