An exciting outdoor exhibition dedicated to Gyula Krúdy, one of the most distinctive prose writers of classical modernism, is on display at the entrance to the King Matthias Cultural Centre in Visegrád.

The „travelling exhibition” created by Gábor Kelemen and Róbert Nyőgér showcases the most significant stages of Krúdy’s extraordinary life, from his childhood in the Nyírség region right up to the writer’s tragic and untimely death in 1933.

The clear aim of the fourteen panels is to convey the message of the exhibition to the public in a way that makes it easily accessible, exciting and engaging.
Accordingly, rather than aiming to provide a thorough analysis of individual works from his oeuvre or of Krúdy’s literary style, this spectacular exhibition – which is also innovative in terms of its graphic design – is, in fact, a kind of fascinating account of his life story.

During a pleasant stroll through the city centre, we can lose ourselves in the writer’s novel-like life journey – at times through its rocky trials, at others through its glorious heights. If you feel like it, you can visit at night or at dawn – the outdoor exhibition is open 24 hours a day until spring.
