Last Friday, the Nagyvillám Ski Resort was finally able to open its doors to skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, thanks to the abundant snow, the efforts of the snow cannons and the resort’s tireless staff.
The freshly fallen powder snow is particularly good for the quality of the slopes, so following last week’s fantastic opening, there have been nothing but positive developments on Visegrád’s „mini glacier”.”
All the slopes are open; it’s true that 3/A is only open in the evenings, but given that the ski resort is open until 21:00, that’s really no cause for concern. Especially not given that run 1/A, as well as the beginner runs, are available from opening to closing, which on weekdays is currently from 13:00 to 21:00.
The lifts are also running, as are the warming-up room, the snack bar and the equipment hire shop. You can also sign up for lessons, and the road is in absolutely fine condition – it’s being cleared – so provided you have suitable winter tyres, getting up to and down from Nagyvillám is no problem at all.
PLEASE NOTE that tickets can only be purchased with cash; for all other services, card payments are also accepted.
Although there will be a slight rise in temperatures across the country, this will not really affect the Danube Bend region; the fog that is likely to settle will help preserve the ski slope, so (if I may venture to say so) it is certain to remain open until the end of the week.
We warmly welcome everyone, even after work, as you can easily reach us from the capital in just 40–50 minutes, despite the prevailing weather conditions. However, we would urge all our visitors to drive carefully and to only come in a car that is guaranteed to be fit for driving in snowy and icy conditions. Let’s look out for one another!
