In the early nineties, Clark, a burnt-out architect turned furniture shop owner, discovers a strange passageway in the basement of his shop. The door leads into a seemingly endless labyrinth lit by fluorescent lights, where the laws of reality gradually begin to unravel. Wandering through the oppressive corridors and empty, office-like spaces, Clark becomes obsessed with the place, whilst his own past and psyche also fall apart. His therapist, Dr Mary Kline, initially dismisses his stories as signs of a mental breakdown, but when Clark vanishes without a trace, she is forced to enter the mysterious dimension herself.
