Dusty, a reclusive farmer, loses his home in a bushfire and is forced to move into a caravan park, where his neighbours, like him, have also found refuge. He has to rebuild his life, so he gets in touch with his ex-wife, Ruby, and his young daughter, Callie Rose, with whom his bond is perhaps now at its deepest. The pair soon win over the hearts of the campsite’s other residents, whilst Ruby’s mother, Bess, tries to be the best grandmother she can in these difficult circumstances, despite her illness. Filmed in southern Colorado, this charming film is based on real-life events and, set against the backdrop of a classic Western, tells a modern-day cowboy story about human relationships, resilience and loss, ultimately offering a promise of hope for everyone.
