The accommodation is situated in the centre of Visegrád, on the quiet Pázmány Péter Street. It is a studio flat completely separate from the owner’s residence (19 Mátyás király Street). It is stylish, unique and cosy, and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We placed great emphasis on the use of natural materials when designing the accommodation. The furnishings and household items were selected in accordance with environmentally conscious principles. The pillows and duvets are filled with 100% duck down, whilst the bed linen, towels, rugs and other textiles are made from 100% cotton or wool. We have also avoided plastic items when selecting kitchen utensils.
Mosquito nets, roller blinds, smoke alarm, Wi-Fi, smart TV, Netflix.
The accommodation measures 28 m² and comprises the following rooms: a combined living room, dining room and kitchen; a bathroom; and a bedroom with a double bed. We provide a single bed in the living area.
The Danube is about 450 metres away, whilst a doctor’s surgery, post office, chemist’s, greengrocer’s and grocery shop are all within 100–450 metres.
WINTER
The Nagyvillám Ski Slope is 4.8 km away; ski equipment can be hired on site. There is a separate slope for sledge riders; sledge hire is not available, but we can provide a two-seater sledge free of charge at the accommodation.
Most of the hotels in Visegrád – such as the Hotel Silvanus (6.8 km) and the Thermal Hotel (3.4 km) – also welcome non-residents to their wellness facilities. Leányfalu Beach (17 km, 15–20 minutes by car, but also easily accessible by scheduled bus in 27 minutes) is open all year round. On Fridays and Saturdays, in addition to its usual opening hours, it delights guests with an outdoor, steaming thermal pool from 8 pm to midnight.
The nearest bathing spots:
The Nagymaros Public Beach (on the other side of the Danube) can be reached in 15 minutes on foot and by water, provided you time your journey to coincide with the ferry’s departure. The Dunabogdány Public Beach is 6 km away, the Pilismarót Riverbank is 13 km away, Leányfalu Beach (which also has a thermal pool) is 17 km away, Szent István Beach (Esztergom) is 23 km away, and Aquasziget Water Park (Esztergom) is 24 km away.
Visegrád is Hungary’s third-smallest town (after Pálháza and Tihany) and is situated within the Danube-Ipoly National Park, a nature reserve. Clear springs and medicinal waters bubble up here, which is why most of the region’s hotels and spas feature therapeutic pools. One of these springs is the nearby Kaán Spring, which has a drinking fountain; it can be reached via a 5.3-kilometre walk, mostly through woodland. There are several marked hiking trails in Visegrád, and the winding Danube offers a unique view from the heights.
In the summer, a sightseeing boat with a journey time of 1 hour 50 minutes departs from Visegrád (following the Visegrád–Nagymaros–Zebegény–Dömös–Nagymaros–Visegrád route). Mahart also offers trips towards Budapest and Esztergom. You can book adventure boat trips and sunset cruises, and water sports are also available in nearby Pilismarót.
As well as swimming, hiking and boating, visiting Visegrád’s sights is, of course, the main attraction for visitors. We provide a separate programme booklet and map detailing these attractions and lesser-known spots at the accommodation. You can easily explore the surrounding area on an e-bike or a traditional touring bike, both of which are available for hire in the town.
As is well known, the Visegrád bobsleigh track is open all year round. The opening hours of the Nagyvillám ski slope depend on snow conditions. Visegrád is a wonderful place to relax even in winter; alongside its medicinal and thermal waters, hiking and events at the Palotaház, there are many other cultural programmes in the surrounding area to enrich your stay.
