Slope 1/A also opened on Wednesday evening at the Visegrád ski resort

In fact, there are two lifts. So the main run – including its upper section – is operating superbly, even if not yet at full capacity!

Following snow grooming after the snowfall, the Nagyvillám Ski Slope 1/A is now in excellent condition for skiing – and it’s no coincidence that it’s the firm favourite on the „Visegrád Glacier”.
This winter has been rather mixed so far, but the weather has been kind of late, with the relatively cold spell holding in, so there’s finally nothing to stop you from jumping in the car after work and driving straight through to Nagyvillám!

The lift on the left, with its reduced rope height, is ideal for beginners in particular, whilst the lift on the right takes the more adventurous up to the summit. So there’s no need to worry about queues, even if more people than usual decide to visit Visegrád on Valentine’s Day to make the most of the brilliant skiing conditions.

Until Valentine’s Day – that is, until Thursday – everyone can buy tickets with a 20% discount, but there will be no price increase from Friday onwards compared with last year’s prices.
The ski resort is also preparing to welcome couples with a little treat: if arriving couples show a little heart, they’ll immediately receive a 50% discount on their ticket prices.

It’s going to be really cold on Saturday, with a Siberian cold snap on its way, so if all goes well, the plastic slope we’ve been using so far – that is, slope 2/A – will also be covered in snow. This means that lessons can continue on real snow.

According to the forecast, it’s set to remain cold next week, so they’ll be sending out that 10-tonne snow groomer onto the thickly snow-covered slope, which can make the main run perfectly smooth.

If you’re a skiing or snowboarding enthusiast, this is the place for you – you could even be up on the summit of Visegrád every day!
Don’t delay, because we never know how long this brilliant weather for sport will last!
