Visegrád’s go-kart track opened in 2012 and has since become nationally renowned; over time, it has also been expanded to include an imaginative adventure park. It needs no introduction to Hungarian go-kart enthusiasts, but its fanbase continues to grow year on year, as anyone who gets a taste of the track and takes a seat in a go-kart often becomes a lifelong devotee of this brilliant sport.
Because this is about sport. Through and through. The often-repeated misconception that a car or go-kart actually drives itself when you put your foot down – and that all you really have to do is steer – is simply not true. Of course, that’s one way of looking at it, but it doesn’t make much sense as a game. When you’re racing against the clock and your rivals, after a few laps you’ll realise that muscle soreness is definitely on the cards…
Regardless of all that, even very young children can have a go, as there are children’s go-karts available, with power output set much lower – making them absolutely safe – but they’re still proper go-karts. What’s more, there are two-seater karts on the track, so parents can sit comfortably alongside their little ones as they get to grips with the horsepower.
The track is also open to groups of friends and company teams, as it is possible to hire the entire track, with 6–12 go-karts available for one hour.
If you’re interested in this unique world – which is often the first step even for Formula 1 drivers – pop along to the Visegrád Go-kart and Adventure Park as soon as possible and experience the thrill of speed!
