From the start of April, the Volán 883 bus service will be running again, taking us directly to the peaks of Visegrád if we feel like going on an outing.

Bus route 883 is a service designed specifically for tourists, yet it forms part of the regular timetable and operates from spring to autumn. It is timed to assist with public transport for tourists visiting the Danube Bend from the spring clock change (30 March 2025) to the autumn clock change (26 October 2025), it will facilitate public transport for tourists visiting the Danube Bend.

Every Saturday and Sunday, as well as on public holidays, you can travel on this service, which departs from Budapest, passes through Szentendre and continues to Visegrád, where it then goes up to the Kisvillám and also to the Fellegvár, so whether your aim is a pleasant trip to Mogyoró Hill and a visit to the nature trail, a tour of the Fellegvár exhibition, or perhaps a family toboggan ride, you can confidently plan your day around the number 883 bus.

Car-free transport is not only cost-effective, but also a good choice in terms of reducing environmental impact and traffic congestion. Those setting off with just a rucksack can still reach their intended destination quickly and comfortably, without having to search for a parking space, don’t have to pay for parking, and can, all in all, save themselves the stress and hassle of driving, since if, for example, a family of three wants to visit the Citadel, say, setting off from Szentendre, they are far better off using this predictable, comfortable bus alternative than driving.
