Naturally, the hospitality sector cannot be left out of this great spring revival. More and more people are arriving in the Danube Bend week by week, so we are gradually shifting to the pace dictated by the characteristics of the warmer season.
Mogyoróhegy Restaurant
The Mogyoróhegy Restaurant is the oldest of Visegrád’s forest restaurants. The building was constructed to a design by Imre Makovecz in the second half of the 1980s, at a time when the surrounding area – a popular destination for tourists – was enriched by a number of exciting and spectacular innovations. It is to this period that we owe, amongst other things, the Forestry Forest School.
The restaurant promises breathtaking views of the Börzsöny mountain range opposite, whilst it is surrounded by forest on all sides and the Nagyvillám peak looms above. Its cuisine is based on home-style dishes and game, and its prices are always set to be as reasonable as possible, ensuring that guests – primarily day-trippers, families and hikers – are offered refreshment and generous portions.

Ördögmalom Restaurant
The Ördögmalom Restaurant, which opened its doors in the spring of 2011, has a name that clearly indicates where to find this unique restaurant as you head towards Telgárthy-rét.
The cosy little „log cabin” built at the entrance to the Miklós Bertényi Botanical Garden has since been extended to include a substantial terrace area, yet it continues to run its authentic kitchen in keeping with its original aims. For nearly 13 years now, there has been no dish more popular there than the trout caught in the nearby trout lakes, which features on the menu in a variety of forms.
Gábor Szabó and Miklós Koncz’s restaurant and the trout lake adjacent to the large hunting lodge have now become central destinations for forest tourism in Visegrád, promising a truly full day’s activity in the cool shade of the trees, in a little slice of a world that one can only read about in the gripping novels of István Fekete and Kálmán Kittenberger…
