Water adventures in Visegrád: SUP; Donut rides and wakeboarding

We’re right in the middle of summer, so all the Danube activities in Visegrád and the surrounding area are available. Now’s your chance to try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding, go on a donut ride, or even test your skills in the world of wakeboarding…

Guided SUP tours in the Danube Bend

SUP has taken our country by storm in recent years, and not without reason. Inflatable boards are extremely practical pieces of sports equipment, and stand-up paddling offers access to a previously completely unfamiliar perspective, as the whole experience is just like walking on water.

Thanks to outdoor.maffia, you can now join guided SUP tours in the Danube Bend and, on a board provided by the team, explore the calmer stretches of the Danube from Tahitótfalu to Esztergom.

Donut riding and wakeboarding

The ‘Racing down the Danube’ team has two exciting options in store for those who aren’t put off by a bit of a wild atmosphere. You’re bound to get wet here, but that’s part of the fun, after all…

The doughnut is a large rubber contraption that you can sit in; you have to hold on tight, and then the race begins: it’s a contest to see who can stay on the longest. The doughnut is towed along the Danube by a high-powered motorboat at breakneck speed.

Wakeboarding is essentially the same as water skiing. The technique is essentially the same as that used for the aforementioned tubing, although staying on the board is a slightly more complex task. You can take some proper tumbles here too, but once you get the hang of it, it can turn into a truly exhilarating adventure.
