On 16 September this year, we will once again have the chance to gain an insight into the world of ancient Rome in Visegrád.
This September, the Sándor Soproni Society will once again transport interested members of the public back to the era of the Roman Empire. On the jousting ground at the King Matthias Museum, the public will be able to discover the weapons, everyday customs, clothing, various leisure activities and even the techniques of coin minting from a bygone era.
The Legio Leonum Valentiniani is preparing a weapons display, whilst the Anda Winery in Visegrád is organising a wine tasting and wine competition – enthusiasts of military history will find plenty to enjoy, just as food lovers will.
There will be a clash between the Barbarians and the Romans as part of a battle scene, so the weapons of that era will be on display in action.
The Danube Museum is coming to Visegrád with an educational workshop, but anyone with an interest in the financial aspects of history can even have a go at minting coins. What’s more! Visitors keen to explore the future will also be able to pop into the Fortune-Teller’s.
Admission is free again this year! The Sándor Soproni Association warmly welcomes everyone interested to this event, which promises to be a wonderful family-friendly occasion.
